ICF 1:1 Mentor Coaching with Arlene

Elevate Your Coaching.

Deepen Your Presence. Earn Your Credential.

Mentor-Coaching

Mentor coaching is provided by Arlene Cohen Miller, JD, PCC — an accredited ICF Mentor Coach with experience supporting coaches pursuing ACC and PCC credentials.

Many coaches engage in mentor-coaching as they refine their professional presence, strengthen their ability to listen deeply, and align their coaching more fully with the International Coaching Federation’s Core Competencies.

Mentor-coaching brings together the reflective depth of mentoring with the forward movement of coaching. It offers a focused space to examine your coaching with care, curiosity, and professional rigor.Rather than adding pressure, the process creates room to pause, reflect, and see your coaching with greater clarity.

From that place, meaningful refinement becomes possible.Through this work, insight and action move together. Coaches deepen their awareness, strengthen their listening, and develop the presence that allows powerful conversations to unfold naturally.

Over time, many find their coaching becomes more deliberate, grounded, and impactful—meeting the standards required for ICF credentialing while also strengthening their confidence as professional coaches.

Because recorded coaching sessions are often shared and evaluated as part of this process, mentor-coaching is conducted with the same respect for confidentiality, thoughtful judgment, and professional discretion expected within the coaching profession.

What Our Mentor Coaching Journey Looks Like

Collaborative

We co-create a space where honest reflection and thoughtful feedback support your growth as a coach.

Rigorous and Respectful

You receive detailed feedback grounded in the ICF Core Competencies—delivered with clarity, care, and professional respect.

Supportive and Safe

Our work is grounded in trust, psychological safety, and unconditional positive regard. You are not judged; you are supported in strengthening your craft.

Insightful and Practical

Both written and verbal feedback help you translate new awareness directly into your coaching sessions.

What the International Coaching Federation Requires

Whether you are pursuing the ACC (Associate Certified Coach) or PCC (Professional Certified Coach) credential, the mentor-coaching requirement is the same.

Mentor-Coaching Requirement

The ICF requires 10 hours of mentor coaching for credential applications.

These hours must be completed over a minimum period of three months.

Of those 10 hours:

At least 3 hours must be individual mentor-coaching sessions
• The remaining 7 hours may be individual or group sessions (groups of no more than 10 participants)

This structure allows coaches to receive both personalized feedback and collaborative learning while developing their coaching competencies.

This Work Is Especially Helpful For Coaches Who

• are preparing for an ACC or PCC credential application
• want clear feedback on recorded coaching sessions
• want to strengthen their alignment with the ICF Core Competencies
• value thoughtful reflection alongside professional rigor

As Your ACC or PCC Mentor Coach

During our work together, I listen carefully to recorded coaching sessions you provide (with transcripts) and offer structured feedback mapped directly to the ICF Core Competencies.

Together we explore both your strengths and opportunities for refinement, helping you strengthen your coaching in ways that are both practical and aligned with ICF standards.

Our work together helps ensure your coaching aligns clearly with the ICF Core Competencies so you can approach your credential performance evaluation with confidence.

Depending on where you are in your development, our work may include refining:

• active listening
• coaching agreements
• coaching presence
• coaching mindset
• the depth and clarity of your coaching questions

Throughout the process, I serve as mentor, mirror, and guide—supporting you as you deepen both your technical skill and your authentic coaching presence.
